Truro is a city in Madison County, Iowa, United States. The population was 427 at the 2000 census. Truro is part of the Des Moines/West Des Moines Metropolitan Statistical Area.

It was named after the city of Truro in Cornwall, United Kingdom, by suggestion of the local train conductor, whose hometown was Truro, Cape Cod, MA. The first white settlers came to the Truro area around 1850, mainly from Ohio, and began farming.
