DESCRIPTION:The Friends of Winterset Library is excited to host an elegant evening full of Colorado culinary delights on Saturday\, June 23\, at the "A Top Chef Cooks for the Books" fundraiser. This dinner features Executive Chef Dana Rodriguez of "Work & Class" and "Super Mega Bien" restaurants in downtown Denver\, Colorado. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and dinner begins at 7:00 p.m. The event will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church\, 1120 N. 8th Ave. in Winterset\, IA. Tickets are $50 per person which includes dinner and beverages. Rodriguez is a James Beard Award nominee and a guest judge on the television series "Top Chef." She will prepare the meal including salad with roasted beets\, goat cheese\, spiced pumpkin seeds\, arugula\, Colorado goat cheese with grapefruit vinaigrette\; Colorado lamb Cajun sausage with brown mustard cream sauce and house pickled peppers\; stout beer-braised beef short ribs\; green chile and goat cheese smashed potatoes\; cashew\, butternut squash\, and Brussels sprout hash\; mixed berry shortcake with lemon meringue cream and rose-marinated blueberries and strawberries\; iced tea\; and complimentary Colorado wine. The dinner is limited to 200 attendees\, so advance purchase of tickets is highly encouraged to reserve your space. Attendees are encouraged to bring cash or check that evening to participate in a raffle for two sets of two "Hamilton" tickets and other prizes. All proceeds from the evening will go to support youth programs and collections at Winterset Public Library.
